Hot Sake Five-Year Anniversary Picnic (2002-2007)!  On May 5th, a cool and breezy spring afternoon, around 50 members of the extended Hot Sake family gathered at Newcastle's Lake Boren Park for 5 hours to celebrate the team's 5th birthday. There were paddlers from all 5 years of the team plus family and friends, including 5 second-generation Hot Sakers (one still in his mom's belly!). It could only be a true Hot Sake event if there was a lot of good food accessible to hungry paddlers. In addition to the usual grilled items, 5-bean salad and 5-fruit salad were also served.
